Ian’s background in the security sector spans more than 20 years and includes work with national security firms as well as running his own business. In his role as Group Operations Director at Gough and Kelly, which he’s had since 2011, Ian looks after sales, guarding and G&K’s 24 hour control room as well as taking a proactive, hands-on role on many customer accounts. Ian is a qualified Safety Officer and works at various events including Castleford Tigers and Leeds United.
Richard has worked at Gough and Kelly since 2000, and currently heads the sales operation within the business. He has worked in the security industry since 1986. Outside work, Richard is a keen runner and a regular 10k runner, often raising money for local charities and causes.
Gavin is a chartered builder, and his construction industry background spans over 20 years, including roles in an architectural practice and a property firm. At Gough and Kelly, his extensive building industry experience means he is ideally placed to deal directly with customer projects as well as overseeing our engineering department and our metal fabrication division. Outside work, Gavin enjoys running and is another of Gough and Kelly’s regular charity fundraisers.
As Finance Director, James is responsible for finance across the group, running the company accounts department and overseeing a team of five people. A qualified accountant, James’s background in finance includes roles in private accountancy practice. Originally from Bridlington, he now lives in North Yorkshire with his wife and two young children.
Catherine joined the team in 2015. A previous role at O2 gave her telesales experience and, through working airside and landside at Leeds Bradford Airport for at Jet2.com, she has an in-depth understanding of working in secure environments. Catherine’s role at Gough and Kelly involves dealing with inbound sales calls, sales team appointments and quotations. Catherine is also a qualified First Aider and part of the Gough and Kelly stewarding team. You’ll see her regularly on match days helping at the Castleford Tigers special assistance gate. In her spare time, Catherine enjoys home improvement, travel and spending time with her husband and their little boy, Archie.
Jemma is often the first port of call for new customers at Gough and Kelly, responsible for contracts and setting them up on our system. Part of our service team, she also deals with our monitored intruder alarms and police response services, monitoring stations and booking installation work.
With a 25-year background in the security industry, Russell provides a very safe pair of hands for many of our customers. A Yorkshireman born and bred, he has worked at Gough and Kelly since 2000, having previously worked for the Crown Prosecution Service. When he’s not working, Russell has an active role as a local Freemason, raising funds for local charities and causes.
Richard’s involvement with Gough and Kelly spans 13 years. He first worked at the company part time as a security officer for four years while studying at Leeds Met University. After finishing university, Richard worked his way around every department, gaining valuable experience and working his way from part time guard to Security Operations Manager. When an opportunity arose in 2012 to become Gough and Kelly’s full time Operations Manager for City of York Council, Richard took the role. He now manages a team on site in York, consisting of corporate security officers, response drivers, transport network operators, emergency response coordinators, CCTV operators for York City Centre and Hambleton District Council, dealing with out of hour activations, as well as overseeing the maintenance contract for council properties and offices.
Sean brings previous operations manager and mentoring experience in the security and manned guarding sectors to his Control Room Manager role at Gough and Kelly. His control room expertise will see him work alongside operations manager Nathan with a view to helping us grow that side of our business while also developing relationships with our existing customers. In his spare time, an expanding family keeps Sean very busy!
Nathan joined Gough and Kelly in 2005 as an electrical apprentice, working through a number of roles into his current position, where he is responsible for delivering our mechanical and electrical contracts. His work includes estimating, tenders and project management, looking after a team of three in the office as well as our site teams. From Leeds, Nathan is a keen cyclist who enjoys mountain biking in his spare time as well as spending time with his young family.
Jade joined Gough and Kelly in 2013 as an apprentice, and worked as the company receptionist before moving into an HR role where she is responsible for all screening and vetting within the business. Outside work, Jade likes films, go karting and also enjoys eating out.
Nathan looks after our intruder, fire alarm, key holding and security customers, covering everything from site setup through to ongoing day-to-day (and night!) client and customer management. He is the first point of contact for those customers within the business. Nathan has a security background, and has worked at Gough and Kelly since 2011. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time at the gym, keeping fit.
With 30 years of industry experience, including similar roles at OpenView and Romec, Andy knows what it takes to ensure every aspect of Gough and Kelly’s installation and service department is running exactly as it needs to be, and what can be streamlined. Andy has lived in Leeds for the last 15 years and, when at home, enjoys spending time with his wife.
Robyn joined the Gough and Kelly service team in 2014. Her role involves supporting our customers by working with them and our engineering team to schedule jobs, repairs and site visits. Robyn spends a lot of her time speaking with customers on the phone and making sure they get the support they need. Outside work, her interests include health and fitness and she’s a regular at an aerial hoop class.
Dean joined Gough and Kelly in 2012 to lead our growing M&E division. He worked as an apprentice-trained electrician before moving into project and contract management roles. Dean’s role encompasses everything from writing tender documents to project delivery, and he oversees all contracts from concept to handover. Having experienced working with Gough and Kelly as a customer, Dean has seen the team in action, understands our strengths and capabilities and is ideally positioned to communicate them to prospective customers.
Peter, a qualified electrical technician with a track record of work with some of the region’s largest electrical contractors, joined Gough and Kelly in 2000. He is in charge of quality control, overseeing the work of our team of electrical staff and contractors and signing off on projects to confirm they meet NIC EIC requirements. Peter also oversees our electrical maintenance contracts. In his spare time, Peter says his two young daughters keep him very busy.
Kim works alongside James and Nicola in the accounts team, dealing with the day-to-day running of the department and helping with monthly accounts and payroll. Originally from Leeds, Kim has worked at Gough and Kelly for 12 years, and when she isn’t working she likes to socialise and spend time with her children.
Kerry is our daytime security controller, working in the monitoring room to make sure everything is running smoothly and no incidents are missed. A criminology graduate from the University of Derby, Kerry has worked at Gough and Kelly since 2013, and is also part of our stewarding team responsible for organising staffing for events. Outside work, Kerry is a huge Leeds Rhinos fan and match day regular.
Reece has recently joined Gough and Kelly as Accounts Apprentice to support the Accounts department in the day to day transactional activities and will, undoubtedly, prove to be a valuable member of the team. In his spare time, Reece enjoys socialising with friends and playing rugby.
As Financial Controller, Nicola manages the Finance team, to assist the Finance Director with the management accounts, to put in new processes and make sure everything runs smoothly! Nicola has 15 years' accounts experience, mainly in the service industry. She is studying towards CIMA, which takes up a fair amount of her time but outside of work and study she likes to socialise.
Having joined Gough & Kelly 15 years ago, as an Engineer, Michael was promoted to Senior Engineer, after 8 years, to lead intricate and complex projects, both nationally and internationally. More recently, Michael has been promoted to Sales Engineering Manager to provide design, pricing and account management support and to pass on his knowledge and experience to our customers, as well as setting up his own projects for his engineering team to complete. In his spare time Michael enjoys spending time with his family especially when it comes to Sunday morning football tournaments with his young sons.
Mark started his career as an electronics engineer in 1985, moving into the Security industry 18 years ago. He recently joined Gough and Kelly as Operations Manager to assist senior management in the improvement of the quality of the service we provide to our customers. Mark heads up the Service Desk team with a role that also includes the supervision of all monitored CCTV designs. In his spare time, Mark enjoys riding and restoring motorcycles and socialising with friends and family, not just the usual DIY ing!
A graduate from the University of Leeds, Joel previously worked in the corporate finance industry before joining Gough & Kelly in 2016. As a Trainee Accountant he works full time in the accounts team whilst studying his ACCA qualification. Joel currently operates in credit control working with customers and the Gough & Kelly team to resolve any customer issues and prevent future queries. Outside work, his interests include health and fitness and regular mountain hikes through the Yorkshire Dales.
Lee became a qualified engineer whilst serving in the Royal Navy before making the transition into the electronic security industry and joining Gough and Kelly in 2005. He rose through the engineering ranks to Senior Engineer and is now our Project Engineer which mainly involves overseeing and commissioning large scale projects within the CCTV discipline. A massive boxing fan and former amateur rugby league player, he now enjoys watching his sons play rugby on a weekend and spending time socialising with friends and family.
Craig originally joined Gough and Kelly as a placement student whilst studying at Northumbria University. Now graduated, he has returned to join the team. His role involves leading various projects throughout the business and managing our fleet of vehicles, to ensure our engineers keep on moving. Outside work, Craig enjoys playing in his band.
Paul is our York Operations Manager and has worked for the company for five years. His main role is front of house for the City of York council West Offices, where he prides himself on his first aid knowledge, customer service, and where he is the "go to" man for any problems.
As our York division is expanding, Paul will be working closely alongside management to gain further experience and to manage all York sites. This will enable the York division and Gough and Kelly to build on their current and future success.
James started working for Gough & Kelly in September 2017 after spending the last six years working as a commercial diver in the North Sea and on various projects across Europe. In his new role as CCTV Operations Manager he draws on his experience from working in high pressure, procedure driven environments with an eye for the details.
He is currently working to ensure that the City of York’s CCTV is the best it can be and looks forward to what the future holds for him within Gough & Kelly.
Prior to becoming a diver he was a snowboard instructor in Canada and loves the outdoors. In his spare time he enjoys playing music and photography.
Chloe joined G&K recently as a Trainee Accountant, after previously working as an Invoicing Administrator. She has joined the team to assist with the day to day transactional work within the accounts department and will work full time whilst studying for her AAT qualification.
Chloe is keen to learn new tasks and develop both personally and professionally.
In her spare time, Chloe enjoys reading crime novels and gaming on her PS4!
