Security specialist Gough & Kelly has designed and installed a bespoke security camera system at Leeds United’s Elland Road stadium intended to protect the club’s hybrid pitch and save time and money on maintenance.
Previously, to action security camera repairs or maintenance, the pitch had to be boarded to allow bulky lifting platforms to access the cameras located around the stadium whilst protecting the state-of-the-art pitch and its complex drainage system.
The new camera system combines fixed head cover remote control CCTV cameras, which can be lowered on a wire to be maintained or repaired in situ. This means that any work can be done quickly and easily, with no disruption to the running of the stadium. All eight cameras are now installed and operational.
Gough & Kelly has worked with Leeds United Football Club for ten years, providing up to 550 stewarding staff for match day security alongside electronic security for the stadium and training ground.
Ian Crawford, group operations director at Gough & Kelly, says “It was amazing to work with the Health and Safety manager at LUFC to create a bespoke security camera solution that truly meets the modern needs of the club.
“We are proud of our long standing relationship with Leeds United and will always provide them with the best and most up-to-date security solutions, so they can focus on the ‘beautiful game’.”
