Another wonderful year fundraising for Martin House

We are delighted to have completed another year’s fundraising for our charity partner, Martin House Children’s Hospice.

Martin House provides life-changing support to children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. They are currently fundraising £2 million to transform the hospice to meet the evolving needs of the hundreds of families they help.

Once again this year we’ve seen a mixture of activities involving everyone in the business to reach our fundraising target of £10,000.

Our staff showed their sporting prowess by competing in a 5-a-side football tournament, where two G&K teams went head-to-head with other Martin House corporate partners in a bid to lift the trophy, raising £510. Over the summer, two excitable teams in fancy dress took on the Dragon Boat races in York and Leeds, cumulatively raising over £2,000.

We are very grateful that our friends, colleagues and clients supported us in a number of auctions and bids across the year. We had the annual Martin House black tie Glitter Ball and its auctions, plus various sporting tickets up for grabs via bids. Together, we raised £3,353.

Last, but certainly not least, a huge thanks to all our staff who put in so much effort and pulled together to make a difference to families across Yorkshire. In our office, we had bake sales, clothes donations and sweepstakes throughout the year, which made a huge impact on our fundraising. From these, we raised nearly £3,000 and we still have our Christmas activities to add.

We’re thrilled to have met and exceeded our £10,000 target for the third year running. Thank you so much for your support in making a real difference for this charity and its wonderful work.
