Gough & Kelly deployed 131 security staff and stewards to the capital for New Years Eve, to ensure that revellers could enjoy a safe night of celebration with minimal disruption to the rest of the city.
Starting 2024 with a bang, Gough & Kelly returned to the capital for the second year in a row to help ring in the New Year at the world-famous firework display in central London.
The festivities, which attract hundreds of thousands of visitors and are televised worldwide, take place at South Bank under the watchful eye of Big Ben and The London Eye. The firework display has been in its current format since the Millennium, with a small break during the pandemic.
Gough & Kelly deployed 131 security staff and stewards to the capital to ensure that revellers could enjoy a safe night of celebration with minimal disruption to the rest of the city. The South Bank event is ticketed, and it was paramount for crowd safety that the area was not breached by any persons without tickets, with Gough & Kelly carrying out perimeter guarding. Other staff worked to direct people and provided searches to mitigate any risks to the public.
In addition to providing safety and security measures to London, Gough & Kelly were also in attendance at events in Leeds and York.
Operations director at Gough & Kelly, Ian Crawford, says, “It was a privilege to return to the capital and provide our services for this huge and exciting event. We are proud to report that the evening went smoothly, and our excellent staff ensured a smooth running and very enjoyable event.”
